Sharing the Africa I see
For the longest time, I have felt discontented following Western news when it comes to Africa, and that is putting it lightly. All too frequently, the news I’d come across rarely matched what I knew to be true and noteworthy about the continent and its people.
This blog is dedicated to giving voice to the changes happening in Africa, especially those not covered (well) by Western media.
The good,
the bad &
not so pretty
Not everything will be rosey. Along with highlighting great African leaders showing great leadership, I’ll address critical areas for change needed.
All together, the goal is to convey the shifting reality that is currently taking place among younger generation of Africans and African Americans. In doing so, we can replace the Western-given negative African narrative with one that suits and is true to our reality.
How do we escape from the trap of Western media? One blog, vlog, comment at a time… Africa is rising, many don’t know it yet.
